The exclusively private, gated community of Johnstone is convenient to nearby shopping boutiques, upscale malls and an assortment of local and regional businesses. Fire and police protection, water, natural gas and sewer services are all provided. Underground utilities are the norm throughout the development.

Lakes/Marinas
Stribling and Britton Lakes, (sized at 100 and 26 acres, respectively) provide residents with a quiet, peaceful setting for enjoyment of nature’s beauty, as well as fishing, boating and other recreational activities. Maintenance of the Lakes' common areas and marinas is provided through the Homeowner’s Association, and includes improved shorelines, ongoing supervision of water quality, fertilization programs, weed and erosion control. Stribling Lake, stocked with bass and bream, features two residents-only marinas. Permanent slips (on a limited basis) as well as day-use docking and boat launches are available to residents.

Golf/Tennis Facilities
Within a two-mile drive of Johnstone are three of Mississippi’s premier golf courses/tennis facilities. Whisper Lake and Lake Caroline are favored by local players, as is Annandale, which is located less than a mile away. Also, Reunion's Golf Course is currently in development next door.

Private Streets in a Quiet Neighborhood
Within the secure gates of Johnstone are low-traffic private streets, gently blended into the natural beauty of the area, and perfect for walking, running or bicycling at any hour. Wood-lined roads connect to a half-mile nature trail, which offers views of both lakes from atop the levy. Barred from thru-traffic, Johnstone’s safe, private streets and other areas are a haven of quiet serenity.

Schools
Madison schools are widely recognized as models of public education in Mississippi. Elementary, middle and high schools are nearby. Johnstone is located in the Madison School District and private academies are also located in the immediate area.

Protective Covenants
Protective covenants, architectural controls and a review committee ensure quality and preserve the value of each and every home.

  • Architectural Review Committee provides oversight for building, drainage and site plans, landscaping, etc.
  • Minimum 3,000 square footage requirements on all Lake and Lakeview lots.
  • Skiing and high-powered boats are not allowed on lakes.
